My knowledge of music and style.
As a teenager, I sorted after my siblings extraordinary musical interests and collections. Although at the time, the act of mixing was not my purview, I was pretty much involved in editing and synchronizing audio tapes. Consequently, I was frequently invited to DJ for friends who soon came to admire my incredible musical talent.
On the other hand, I was quite connected to my neighbors, Fela Kuti's, organization. In fact, within a time of college studentsŐ alienation to Shrine, the late Fela Kuti's nightclub, I was very instrumental in setting a trend of young elite Shrine audience. This marked an initiation to a secret world of music known as the underground spiritual game. In 1984, I moved from my home town Lagos, Nigeria to England as a scholar. Here I gained a vast knowledge of the London underground scene. When I moved to the US in 1988, I became extremely inspired by the music of legendary DJs such as Tony Humphries, Kenny Carpenter , DJ Stone, Chris Masiah, and my good friend Jerome Sydenham (Ibadan Records), who at the time was a resident DJ at NYC's club NellŐs. While getting an academic business education, I continued to closely study the DJ techniques of the aforementioned names, among others. Similarly, I maintained a strong presence in the San Francisco and New-York's underground scene. By 1995, I was in full effect and was ready to unwrap my exceptional knowledge of music, the underground scene, including a very powerful imagination and ideal. I began resident and guest appearances at clubs and private parties in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and beyond. As a result of a sharp talent, I was quickly embraced and have been successful in sharing my spiritual gift and insight with friends and colleagues around the globe.
To reaffirm a full dedication to the underground spiritual game, I launched Fatsouls, a super sonic campaign outlet, in September 1999. Fatsouls' monthly installment, Atmosfere (Registered ServiceMark) has since gained a vast and remarkable following in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Atmosfere's presentation of an extraordinary rotation of world class artist created a new nightlife scene in San Francisco that others have since attempted to emulate. Currently, I am sharpening up the skills of studio production. Keep your ears and eyes open.
